My 2024 Stationery Favourites: Part 2

The other day I posted Part 1 of my Stationery Favourites of 2024, and talked all about my favorite pens and inks of the year. In this second part I’m going to talk all about my other favourite stationery, from notebooks, to planners and accessories.

So let’s start with the all-important notebooks:

My Top 3 Notebooks of 2024

Traveler’s Company Notebooks

2024 was the year I got into TNs, and I bought a grand total of three Traveler’s Company notebooks: the passport size in blue, which I now use as my wallet, the standard olive, and the standard black. I’ve also experimented with all kinds of Traveler’s Company inserts from the plain and ruled, to undated planners and pink kraft paper, and I can honestly say, I love it all across the board!

The quality is high, from the leather of the covers to the paper in the inserts, and I love how customisable it is as a system.

Field Notes

I went a bit crazy on the Field Notes front around August, and bought multiple sets of them, but I have to say, I haven’t regretted it! I love the range of beautiful, eye-catching covers I bought, the paper quality is good, and they’re just so handy to slip into your pocket or your bag.

Stalogy

A discovery I only made in the last few months of 2024 is Stalogy notebooks. I bought an A5 365 days Stalogy notebook in September and have been using it as my journal ever since, and I absolutely love it.

For such thin paper the quality is great, I love the size of the grid, and I also like the way the paper gets a bit crinkly when you’ve written on it, and especially when you’ve stuck things in. Some people might see that as a downside, but I like when a notebook starts to look a bit lived in!

My Top Notebook Covers of 2024

Hobonichi Covers

I’m fairly new to the world of Hobonichi, so it was only this year that I discovered their covers, and I now have three.

I couldn’t resist the Spy x Family edition that was released in September, and have been using it to house the A5 Stalogy I’m using as a journal ever since I got it. I also grabbed the A5 Dreamy Soda cover for cheap off Vinted and last year’s One Piece A6 cover from Stilo & Stile.

They’re just such fun covers (and I especially love that two of them are tie-ins with animes/mangas that I love), and are decent quality for being on the more budget end of Hobonichi (not that that makes them particularly cheap!). I’d never really bothered with notebook covers prior to discovering Hobonichi, but now I can see I’m going to have a new way to spend all my money next year!

bibbiRoselab Stalogy Jelly Cover

My other favourite notebook cover of 2024 is a black and silver jelly cover I bought off Etsy for my Stalogy B6. It’s so beautiful and sparkly, and I like little details like the scalloped edges on the inside.

The Etsy shop I bought it from, bibbiRoselab, sells a huge range of cute jelly covers for Stalogy and Hobonichi notebooks and planners, and they’re all so pretty! I can definitely see myself making another purchase from them at some point!

My Top Planner of 2024

Hobonichi Weeks One Piece Like The Sun

This wasn’t a difficult choice, as aside from the Kinbor A6 that I’ve been trying out for the past few months, I’ve only used one planner this year: my first ever Hobonichi Weeks.

The way I’ve used it this year didn’t work out as I planned, but I loved the planner itself, especially the layout and the One Piece design. I’ve bought another one for 2025, and will be using it a little differently. But it’s a handy little planner, and I can see why they’re so popular!

My Top Pen Case of 2024

Lihit Lab Compact Pen Case

This is such a handy little pencil case to take around with you in your bag, and I ended up liking it so much I now have two: the green one travels around with me, and I have a red one that stays on my desk.

In fact, the green one came on a little trip to London with me in July, and was ideal for traveling, having a secure pocket on one side that keeps your best pens safe, and a looser net side where you can keep things like washi tape, scissors, and some less precious pens.

Lihit Lab have a lot of different types of pencil cases and pouches available, and the quality is nice, especially for the price, so I can see myself trying out more of their products in the future.

My Top Stationery Accessory of 2024

Hightide Penco Clampy Pla-Clip

This is a bit of a vague category that I invented mainly so I could talk about these handy clips! My need for clips arose from my new found love of Traveler’s Notebooks, but I wasn’t willing to pay £20+ for one of the Traveler’s Company brass clips, however nice they look. So instead, I bought these super cheap plastic clips from Penco, and I really like them!

They come in a nice array of colours, from neon to muted, and grip well, whilst not being sharp enough to scuff the leather of your notebook. They are quite big, which might be an issue for some people, but I really like these!

My Top Washi Tapes of 2024

Bones And Blankets Washi Tape

2024 was the year I got into washi tape, and I bought a lot of it. Mostly I bought plain sets from local craft stores, or the cute designs from Kenji, but I did also buy a few rolls from an Etsy shop called Bones and Blankets that are easily my favourites!

The spooky designs are definitely my vibe, and the quality is really nice! Plus you get a huge roll for the price, so even though I’ve been using these quite liberally, I still have plenty left.

My Stationery Highlights of 2024

And lastly I thought it might be nice just to close out 2024 with some of my favourite stationery moments of the year.

2024 was the first year I was a part of the online stationery community, and my first full year as a fountain pen person. It was also the year I progressed from just loving pens to getting really into inks, and I also expanded my stationery love into notebooks and planners.

So it’s quite hard to pick my highlights of the year! But ultimately, as much as I’ve loved the things I’ve bought and the new products I’ve discovered, my favourite moments were the ones I shared with other people, or when I got to be around other stationery people in real life.

So these were my highlights of 2024:

The Northern Pen Show

In April, me, my fiancé and my parents went to the Northern Pen Show in Chester, and we had an amazing time. It was exciting to be shopping for pens and inks in person for the first time (there’s no fountain pen shops near me), as well as being surrounded by other people who love pens, and getting to talk to the vendors.

And above all, it was nice to be there with my fiancé and my Mum and Dad. My Dad also likes stationery, but my Mum and fiancé aren’t big stationery people. But it was lovely to see how into it they got, and we had such a nice time. It was so much fun, and I definitely want to go to more pen shows next year!

Visiting Choosing Keeping in London

My fiancé and I went on a lovely trip to London in July, and it was one of the highlights of my year. And one of my favourite places we visited was a really unique stationery shop called Choosing Keeping. I wrote a more detailed account of my visit and what I bought here, but it was just fun to once again be shopping in person for fountain pen stuff, and the store had such a lovely vibe. I’d definitely love to go again!

So as you can see, 2024 has been an amazing stationery year for me, and I hope it has been for you too! I’m now excited heading into 2025, as I feel like I know a lot more about my stationery likes and dislikes, and am looking forward to exploring that further in the New Year, as well as enjoying the things I already have and love.

So what have been your favourite stationery items in 2024? What have been your stationery highlights?

[…] many of my most used and most loved notebooks of 2025 were the exact same as last year, namely Stalogy and Field Notes. So I decided not to retread old ground be rementioning them. […]
