What’s in my travel stationery kit?

It’s been quite a while since I did any traveling, so I’m incredibly excited to be going on a trip to London with my fiancé next week. We’re only staying for a couple of nights, and since there’s a lot we want to do, I probably won’t have much time for writing. But I do intend to keep a travel log whilst I’m away, so I figured I should put together a little travel stationery kit of the essential things I’ll need. So I thought I might as well do a little blog post tour of what I’m taking!

The main thing I knew I’d need to take was the notebook itself. As we’re hoping to do a lot more traveling in the future, I decided to start a fresh notebook to keep as a travel log. Every time we go on a trip, I plan to use this notebook to organise the trip, document what we do whilst we’re there, and when I get home afterwards, I want to add some photos.

I didn’t want a huge notebook for this purpose, but I needed one big enough for plenty of writing and to stick in some decent sized photos. So I chose an A5 Oatmeal softcover notebook from Paperchase. As a compact, flexible notebook this will be perfect for slipping in my backpack! I’m hoping to jazz up the cover at some point with some travel related stickers, but for now, it’s just plain.

These notebooks also come with a handy pocket in the back where I’ll be keeping some cute metallic star stickers to be used for simple decoration.

In terms of a pen case I wanted something fairly small, but big enough for all my essential items. So I chose this Lihit Lab Compact Pen Case in bright green. I’ve had this for a while, and really like it, and it’s absolutely perfect for traveling.

Inside I’m carrying three pens: a Uniball One P gel pen with a 0.38 black refill, and two fountain pens inked with the two colours I’ve chosen to be the theme of the London travel log, blue and red. I didn’t want to take anything too expensive, so I chose the Lamy Safari Strawberry, inked with Diamine Passion Red, and my multi coloured Jinhao 100 Centennial, inked with Waterman Serenity Blue.

I’ve also included matching blue and red glitter washi tape for decorating, and a small pair of foldable scissors to cut it with (I love these cute bear scissors from Kenji!).

The only other thing I’m bringing in my pen case is my yellow Pentel P209 Mechanical Pencil. I doubt I’ll be needing a pencil at any point, but I figured I had the extra room, so I’d bring it just in case.

So that’s my travel stationery kit for my trip to London. I’m hoping it’ll be perfect for my needs!

So what does your travel stationery kit look like? What do you consider essentials?
