My fountain pen journey all started with the Kaweco Sport in Light Lavender. I can’t even fully remember how I stumbled upon this pen, I just thought it looked cute, ordered it, and fell in love. After that, I fell hard into the fountain pen hobby as a whole, but one area of my collection that has really grown is my Kaweco collection, and it’s still one of my favourite pen brands.

I now own 9 Kaweco pens, and I have even more on my wishlist, so I thought I’d do a post giving a little tour of my collection. 

Currently, I have 6 of the plastic Kaweco Sport pens, and I absolutely love how cute they are, and how easy they are to just slip in your pocket or bag and take with you anywhere. They are some of the only pens in my collection that I keep permanently inked, some with specific colours that I use in my Hobonichi Weeks.

As I’ve said, the Light Lavender Kaweco Collection Sport was not only my first Kaweco, but also my first fountain pen, and so it holds a very special place in my heart. I followed it up quickly with the Natural Coconut and the Fine Lime pens from the Frosted Collection, but I no longer have the Lime pen (I gave it to my Dad in an attempt to get him into fountain pens too). 

I then discovered the online pen retailer Cult Pens, which has proven amazing for my fountain pen collection, but terrible for my wallet! One thing I was immediately drawn to on their website was their exclusive colour Kaweco Sport in Apple Green. Whereas I’d previously been sticking to the pastel shades, I loved how vivid and in your face the green was, and I snapped it up. 

Months later when they released another exclusive Kaweco Sport – the Transparent Silver – I loved it even more, and bought it, already having picked up the Mellow Blue version in the meantime, so I could try out a medium nib (all my other Kawecos are fine or extra fine). 

My final plastic Kaweco Sport only entered my collection this week, but it’s one I’ve had my eye on for a while. I generally prefer more interesting coloured pens, but something about the classy neutral tones of the Macchiato Kaweco Sport really appealed to me, and I’m excited to ink this up with a nice brown ink! 

However, that isn’t the end of my Kaweco Sports! Another recent acquisition of mine has been my first Kaweco Al-Sport. I’ve been curious about trying one of the metal Sport pens for a while, and the Kaweco Collection Vibrant Violet was one that particularly appealed to me. I spotted it on a great deal on eBay and bought it, and just like my other Kawecos, I love it! It’s such a gorgeous pen, and probably my favourite Kaweco that I own. 

But that isn’t the last of my Kawecos! I have two non-Sport Kaweco fountain pens: a Kaweco Perkeo in All Clear, and the Kaweco Perkeo calligraphy pen. I’m a big fan of demonstrator pens, and I’d been curious to try out some of Kawecos full-sized pens, which is how the All Clear Kaweco Perkeo entered my collection. I then picked up the Kaweco Perkeo Calligraphy set at Fred Aldous in Manchester after deciding I wanted to experiment with stub nibs. It came with three different sized stub nibs, and so was amazing for the price! 

And so, with 9 pens in the Kaweco Collection, will I be buying anymore? I already feel like I have too many, but there’s still more I want!

For starters, I’m really tempted by the newly released Apricot Pearl Kaweco Sport. I’ve always really liked the look of the Iridescent Pearl one, but it seemed too similar to the Natural Coconut colour for it to be worth adding to my collection. But since I have no orange Kaweco Sports, the Apricot Pearl could be a good alternative to get that fun iridescent effect! 

Now I’ve started with the metal Kawecos I’m also kind of interested to try the Brass Sport. I know it would be a significant jump in weight from the Al-Sport, and people say it makes your hands smell like pennies, but I just love the look of it! And I like the idea of it getting a unique patina over time, and really becoming your own pen. 

And finally, I’d really love a Kaweco Art Sport. I’m torn between the Hickory Brown and the Pebble Blue, but I’d love to add one of them to my collection.
