Did I reduce my pen collection and receive a brand new pen in the same week? Yes, I sure did! It isn’t great, but in my defence, I preordered this pen before my clear out, and it’s an absolute beauty, so I’m not going to feel too bad about it!
So introducing my new beauty: the Leonardo Momento Zero Confettini fountain pen!

The Momento Zero is a rare model of pen for me, in that I bought one (the Nuvola Lilac), loved it, and decided I already had the perfect one and didn’t need another (generally when I love a pen model I decide I need a million of them!). I hadn’t even found myself tempted by another, until I spotted this one in a Stilo & Stile promotional email. They even had a 10% preorder promotional offer, and the heart wants what the heart wants, so I decided to spend my fountain pen day money early and ordered it.

And I have no regrets! This pen is lovely and colourful, whilst simultaneously not being too in your face. It has a white, cracked glass style body with sprinkles of pink, blue and yellow throughout. There is always an element of luck with this style of pen as to what mix of colours you’ll get, but I feel like this is the second time I’ve got extremely lucky with a Leonardo pen. My Nuvola Lilac had a lovely mix of the purple and white, and similarly my rainbow sprinkles pen has a good mix of the different colours.

I chose the silver trim for this pen, as I felt it went better with the white base colour, and a fine flex nib. I’ve never tried a flex nib before, and I have to say, I’m not seeing much line variation with it. I’m not sure if I’m just too afraid to use the necessary pressure though!
I am really enjoying the nib though, as it feels much bouncier than my other Leonardo nib, and is extremely smooth and juicy. It definitely writes more like a medium in my opinion: you can see it here compared to the fine nib on my Nuvola Lilac. But I feel like the juicier nib gives me more ink options, which I think is good with a colourful pen like this.

Right now I have it inked with Diamine Hope Pink, which is probably too bright really with the soft pastel colours of the pen, but it looks amazing in this nib!
Whilst this pen was not on my wishlist for this year, I am so glad I got it. It’s so pretty, and even more importantly, it writes like a dream. And I officially don’t need another Leonardo…until the next one that catches my eye!
So what do you think of the Leonardo Momento Zero Confettini? Are you a Leonardo fan?
