Stationery Favourites – September 2026

I feel like I say this every month, but I honestly can’t believe how far into the year we are. It still doesn’t feel that long since the New Year, but we’re now only three months away from 2027!

September has been a busy month though, mainly with work, but also, thankfully because of travel. Me and my fiancé Jay took another trip to Scotland at the start of the month, which was really lovely. In June we went to Edinburgh, near the East coast, but this time we stayed near Ayr on the West coast.

I haven’t been to that area since I was a kid, and it was just as beautiful as I remembered. We visited some amazing places like Galloway Forest and Culzean Castle, and even took a trip into Glasgow.

I, of course, documented it all in my travel journal, so I thought this monthly update could mainly be about my travel stationery. Here’s everything I brought:

  • Clear traveler’s notebook: I love my leather traveler’s notebooks, but I’ve found myself using this cheap clear plastic one I got off Aliexpress a lot recently. I like that you can see the cover of the notebook underneath, and I guess I feel less bad about throwing this thing around, even though I know leather could easily withstand it.
  • TWSBI Diamond 580 ALR Sunset: I love this TWSBI pen, as it’s a little more hardy than the Ecos, and is larger and more comfortable in the hand. I have this inked up with Troublemaker Abalone, and it was the main pen I used in my travel journal.
  • TWSBI Eco Transparent Purple: It didn’t feel right going anywhere with just one pen though, so I also brought this TWSBI Eco inked up with Robert Oster Cosmic Swirl. I had other notebooks in my travellers notebooks that I wrote in whilst I was away, and this was the pen I used.
  • Date Stamp: I could easily just write the dates in my journal, but I love the aesthetic of a date stamp, and it fits in my pen case, so I took it!
  • Kokuyo Gloo Small Glue Stick: I brought this to stick tickets and other ephemera into my travel journal. I don’t think I could go back to a plain old glue stick after buying one of these: the square shape is perfect for getting into corners, and not leaving mess underneath whatever you’re glueing.
  • Luddite Random Denim Zipper Case: All the above stationery items fit perfectly into this denim pen case. I tend to travel fairly light with stationery, so this compact pen case is my go-to travel case.
  • Polaroid Hi-Print Photo Printer: I’m not sure why I’ve never reviewed this on my blog, as this mini photo printer is an essential part of my travel stationery kit. It’s really easy to use, and the photos are great quality, printed straight onto sticky back paper. I’ll have to do a review soon!

Personal Curriculum

My personal curriculum project continued to go well this past month. I successfully completed my research project on commonplacing, watched the seventh Brandon Sanderson writing lecture on Youtube, wrote some more of my novel, and finished my two Kamen Rider mini cross stitches (although I really need to iron them, before I frame them!).

The only thing I didn’t complete was my zine. I have written it, and spent some time trying to figure out the format (not to mention how to get my very old printer to print it correctly!), but plan to complete it as part of next month’s curriculum.

My full goals for October are:

  • To listen to the audiobook of Queens and Kings: An Unusually Personal History by Lucy Worsley
  • To watch the eighth Brandon Sanderson writing lecture on Youtube.
  • To write 15,000 words of my novel project: I decided to get a bit more specific this month to try and make a bit more progress.
  • To finish my zine project.
  • To complete the cross stitch I’m currently working on. I won’t share too much here, as it’s a gift for a friend for Christmas!

So how has your September been? What have been your stationery favourites of the month?
