It’s planner season again, and seeing everyone buying their Hobonichi Weeks has made me want to try a weekly planner again. Since I’m not confident I’ll stick with it (me and weekly planners have history!), and I don’t want to have to wait until 2027 to start it, I decided not to splash out on a Weeks. Instead I bought a Kinbor Undated Weekly Planner, and even better – it has Cinnamoroll on it!
Kinbor is a Chinese stationery brand that sells a variety of planners and notebooks. I’ve previously tried their A6 daily planner and was really impressed by the cute design and paper quality, so was really excited to get my weekly planner!
I was spoiled for choice on designs as a Sanrio fan, as there were two different Cinnamoroll designs, and two Kuromi designs. Kinbor also does other undated planners, as well as dated weekly planners each year, although the design options are limited.
I really love the design I chose though, and it looks even better in real life, thanks to the holographic details. Also, when you open it up you see this:

On the inside it has all the features you’d expect from a weekly planner: a yearly calendar page, monthly pages and then the weekly pages, plus blank notes pages at the back.
The monthly pages are nice and simple, and largely uncluttered.
As far as the weekly spreads go, I feel like the Kinbor planner is not as aesthetic as the Hobonichi Weeks, especially with the grey border with the days of the week on. I don’t love that so much, and the days of the week are written in a very tiny font, but it is perfectly usable. I also just think planners always look a little messier when you have to fill in the dates yourself (although that might just be when you have my handwriting!), which can’t really be helped.
As far as the paper goes, I’m again very impressed by Kinbor. It’s crisp white gridded paper, a bit thicker than Tomoe River paper, but still fairly lightweight, and is largely suitable for gel pens and fountain pens. Here is my pen test:
As you can see, there was some bleed through with medium nibbed pens, but my gel pens and fine fountain pen nibs barely even ghosted, which is pretty impressive!
The Kinbor Undated Weekly Planner is perhaps not as aesthetic as the Hobonichi Weeks, but for a third of the cost (I paid £9.59 for this on Aliexpress), I can’t really complain. The paper is great quality and fountain pen friendly, and the design is absolutely adorable! So if you’re looking for an undated weekly planner, or just a cheaper alternative to the Hobonichi Weeks, or other pricey weekly planners, I’d highly recommend this one!
