Stationery Favourites – March 2025

Whilst March wasn’t the most active month for me here on the blog, it actually has been quite an active month in my stationery life. Not only have I had a couple of exciting new purchases, but I’ve started a new journal, and have caught up on my 2025 ink swatching project.

But let’s talk about pens first!

Fountain Pens

One of my most used pens in March was actually a dip pen! Whilst swatching all of my inks I’ve been using my Pilot Iro-Utsushi dip pen to write in the names of the inks, since I didn’t have them all inked in a pen. I have a medium nib on this dip pen, and it’s a really nice writer, and holds a lot of ink to say it doesn’t have a feed! This is yet another item on my to-review pile.

I also got two new fountain pens this month: the Opus 88 Koloro in White and Amber, and the Benu Pixie Pocket in Plum Cream.

Despite some initial teething problems with the Opus 88, and getting the ink flowing, I’ve now resolved the issue and am really loving it. Especially paired with a new ink to my collection: Pilot Iroshizuku To-Ro. I’ve been looking for the perfect legible yellow ink for a while, and I think this might be it!

And I’m totally in love with the Benu Pixie Pocket! I’ve been dying to add some Benu sparkle to my collection for a long time, and so I’m so excited to have this cute, sparkly little pocket pen. I have it inked up with Herbin Poussiere de Lune which is a lovely match for the deep purple glittery section of this pen.

I’ve only just received these pens though, so I’m excited to get to use them more in April.

Notebooks

This month in notebooks, it was all about change.

Firstly, I converted my Olive TN into an ink journal. It now houses my monthly Currently Inked insert and my newly up-to-date ink swatch book.

And I’ve officially finished with my latest journal (started in October 2024), and have moved into another one. I hadn’t technically completed the Stalogy A5 notebook I was using as a journal, as it still had quite a few pages left. But I’d stuck in so much washi tape and stickers and photos that it had become so chunky, it was impossible to write on the left-hand page. I love how chunky it got, and it’s super satisfying to flip through and see all the decoration, but it just wasn’t practical.

So I’ve now moved into an A5 hardback Leuchtturm1917 that I’ve had sitting in a drawer for a couple of years, and I’m going to brighten up the pages with pretty inks instead of decorations this time!

Stationery Accessories

This isn’t so much a stationery item as a piece of tech, but since I’m mostly going to be using it for journaling purposes, I thought I’d mention it here: I got a mini photo printer!

I bought the Poloroid Hi-Print, a tiny little photo printer that prints little photo stickers straight from my phone. It’s super handy, and I’m really impressed with the quality of the photos.

The only downside is that the photo paper refills are quite expensive, but since I’m trying not to chunk up my current journal too much, I’ll probably be using it sparingly, anyway. Or saving my photo paper for my travel journal, when I go on some trips later in the year!

So how was your March? What has been happening in your stationery life, and what have been some of your stationery favourites of the month?
