It’s over halfway through September, and I’ve already bought too much stuff, and spent too much money. But at least some of it I blame on Hobonichi season! So I guess let’s start the haul there!
Whilst I’m waiting until the release of the One Piece stuff to order my Weeks and HON from the Hobonichi website, I ordered a few things from other places that I was worried about missing out on.

The main thing I really wanted from this year’s Hobonichi line-up was the A5 Spy x Family cover. I adore Spy x Family, and I liked this design so much I decided I wanted to get the cover so that I can use it beyond 2025. So I ordered it off The Journal Shop on release day, along with something else (which I’ll discuss later in the post!).
I don’t actually have a Hobonichi Cousin in this cover, and I don’t intend to get one. Instead, I’ve put an A5 Stalogy notebook inside that I intend to use as my next journal.

My other Hobonichi buy this month was the original A6 Techo, along with an A6 cover for it, that I ordered from Stilo & Stile. I really like Hobonichi’s One Piece line, but I can’t say I was too excited about the One Piece covers set to be released this year. However, I spotted that Stilo & Stile still had last year’s One Piece covers available, which I really like! So I ended up grabbing the yellow A6 cover, and I love it so much! My plan for this A6 Techo is to use it for a daily flash fiction challenge I want to do in 2025.
As part of my Stilo & Stile order I also bought the special edition Tokyo charms from Traveler’s Company, and they’re so cute! I put the sakura charm on my Olive Traveler’s Notebook, and the Taiyaki on my new black Traveler’s Notebook…because yes, I’ve bought another one, despite saying I wouldn’t!

I decided I wanted another TN to use as my writing planner, so I could use my Olive TN as a creative journal, since I’ve recently got into scrapbooking, and watercolour. I was tempted to buy the Tokyo special edition TN, but ultimately decided I didn’t want to spend that much extra money. So instead I ordered the plain black TN as part of my Journal Shop order, put the red elastic on it, and the charm. And I love it!

And the last part of my September haul is probably the most exciting – my second handmade pen! I bought my first a while ago from Scribe Pens, and I’ve been loving it. So when I spotted they were having a sale I couldn’t resist getting another one.

A lot of the handmade pens I see online that I love the most are really brightly coloured, so the pen I ended up choosing actually seems like quite a wild card for me, as it’s quite neutral. I bought the Diamondcast White Pearl pen, and I’m so happy with it! Photos don’t do justice to how lovely this pen is, with its pearlescent sheen and the subtle shimmer that it has because of the Diamondcast material.

My first Scribe Pens pen is one of the most comfortable pens to hold in my entire collection, but because I’m a matchy-matchy ink person I always feel like I can only ink it up with either green or purple inks. So I was really drawn to the White Pearl pen because whilst it’s still stunning, it’s also neutral enough that I could put literally any ink in it, and it would match.
I currently have it inked up with Diamine Golden Honey, and I’m really enjoying this combination. This pen is definitely a new favourite in my collection, and I honestly can’t recommend Scribe Pens enough if you’re looking for a beautiful handmade fountain pen.
I’m now trying to curtail my stationery spending for the rest of the month, because not only have I gone overboard, but I need to put aside money for the long-awaited One Piece Hobonichi release!
So have you bought much new stationery recently? Are you a Hobonichi fan? What have you been picking up this planner season?
