One of my stationery goals for 2026 was to buy no more than 10 fountain pens, and it’s now the 8th of February and I’m already up to 2, so I need to be careful! But I really couldn’t resist my latest pen purchase, and as a handmade pen it’s unique, so I knew if I didn’t buy it I’d regret it. So here it is:

This pen is from a UK pen maker called Scribe Pens (you can find them on Etsy and Instagram) and is primarily made from a Diamondcast material called Unicorn Nugget. I love pastel colours, so I couldn’t resist this sparkly, swirly pastel rainbow resin, and the translucent pink cap full of chunky glitter really gives this pen the wow factor.
I already have two Scribe Pens fountain pens, so I knew I was going to like the size and shape of it. Both of my other pens (see the picture below!) are similarly large pens, and have the same indented grip section that makes it incredibly comfortable to write with.

I chose a fine Bock nib for my Unicorn Nugget pen, and immediately inked it up with Pilot Iroshizuku Kosumosu, a nice bright pink ink (sadly discontinued now – I don’t know why when it’s such a pretty ink!). I like this combination, although because of the pastel colours on the pen, I think next time I might pair it with a softer colour, as Kosumosu is maybe a little too bright?

I’m really happy with this pen though – I seem to be having a big sparkly pen moment right now, and it doesn’t come much sparklier than this! And if you’re on the lookout for a beautiful handmade pen I really would recommend Scribe Pens. The pens are stunning and very comfortable to write with, and they come with a cartridge, converter and a little bottle of ink, plus a really cute pen sleeve!

So are you a sparkly pen fan? And what pen purchases have you made recently?
