I can’t believe it’s June already! This year seems to be flying by.
May was a good month on the whole though, with plenty of bank holidays (extra days off work – yay!), a camping trip (I got to dig out my poor, dusty travel journal!), and more time to spend with my stationery than I’ve had in a while.
So let’s talk about what stationery I’ve been using this month:
Fountain Pens

I’ve been continuing to use some of my latest pen purchases a lot this past month, namely my Esterbrook Estie and Benu Pixie Pocket. I’ve also now switched the nib on my Pixie Pocket to the medium nib from my Kakimori Frost, as I said I might in my review, and I’m liking it a lot better.
Despite being my current favourites, I decided not to take either of these on our camping trip to Yorkshire, as they felt too pricey to be using whilst sat out at a wobbly camp table in the middle of a field! Instead, I brought this pink Jinhao 10, with a black Pilot ink cartridge.

I have three Jinhao 10s now, and really enjoy them as a cheaper alternative to my Pilot Decimo. And they’re perfect to travel with, since they have no cap and are quick and easy to use, and they’re cheap enough that you don’t feel you have to be too precious with them.
Notebooks
I hadn’t traveled since last year, until this month, so I was pretty excited to get to do some travel journaling again! I’ve now moved my travel insert into my black traveler’s notebook, and also put a second lined insert in the back for any other random writing I wanted to do. I didn’t end up having any time to use the second insert, but it was nice to know it was there, just in case!

At home, I’ve been getting plenty of use out of the refillable Filofax notebook I bought at the end of last month. I’ve yet to review it, but I’m really enjoying the paper quality, and the convenience of the dividers and being able to move around the pages. I’ve been using it to plan out my various writing projects.
Other

A couple of months ago I bought the Poloroid Hi-Print mini photo printer to use to print photos for my journals. I hadn’t had too much use out of it until our camping trip, but then it really came into its own! It was so simple and easy to print out my photos straight from my phone, and peel and stick them in my travel journal.
The refills for these mini photo printers get kind of expensive, so I’ll probably use it almost exclusively when traveling. But since we’re hopefully going to be doing a lot more traveling later this year (we’ve got the camping bug now!), it should start to get plenty of use.
So how has your May been? What have been some of your favourite stationery items of the month?
