My Most Used Pens and Inks – June 2024

I haven’t done as much writing as I’d have liked in June 2024, but somehow seem to have ended up with a crazy amount of pens inked anyway! So quite a few of them haven’t been getting as much use as I’d have liked, aside from a couple of old favourites, and some new buys I’ve been trying out.

My old favourites, of course includes my Platinum #3776, which continues to be my favourite pen in my collection, and the one I use to write in my journal (although I think I need to re-ink it, as it’s nearly run dry!). And my other old favourite is my Hongdian Rainbow Forest, which I inked up for the first time in a while last month, and have been continuing to love this month. I really need to review this pen soon, as it’s a great inexpensive pen! I have it inked right now with Diamine Ultra Green, which is a nice match.

As for newer pens, I’ve been continuing to love the Sailor Tsukuyo-no-Minamo I bought at the Northern Pen Show in April, especially as I’ve finally found the perfect ink match for it in Robert Oster Dusky Pink.

Two brand new pens I’ve been enjoying this month are the Kaweco Sport in Apricot Pearl, which I finally caved and bought, and my first ever vintage pen! The Kaweco is inked up with Diamine Pumpkin, which I really like, but I realised that it’s very similar to an ink I already have in another pen, Diamine Peach Haze.

The vintage pen is an old Pilot Elite with an 18K nib that I got for a great price on eBay. It’s a little battered, and it came with a dried out ink cartridge still in it, but with a bit of cleaning and soaking, it’s now in full working order. I’ve inked it with Waterman Harmonious Green, and I’m loving how nice of a writer it is! I’ll have to do a post about this pen soon, as I’ve been really enjoying it. I’m definitely interested in getting some more of these vintage Japanese pocket pens!

And the final pen I’ve been using this month isn’t actually a fountain pen, but a gel pen. As I wrote about in my review the other day, I bought a Zebra Sarasa Grand, and have been really loving it!

So how was your June? What pens and inks have you been using this month?
